GHOST |
✖ CDC Systems Tech Monitor ✖ Blue Team Overseer ✖ ghost@cdc.org
✖ PLACE OF ORIGIN & SPECIES: [REDACTED] / [REDACTED] ✖ DIET: N/A. ✖ NOTABLE SKILL SET/S: Cyberspace hacker, neuromancer (?).
✖ BACKGROUND: Ghost is an organic entity with a bionic physiology; that is, underneath the alien flesh and acid yellow blood-pumping veins, there's a neural circuitry equipped with an AI system that allows him to interact with the CDC network and other network mainframes. If you need something hacked and/or need someone to build you an impenetrable cyberspace firewall, he's your guy. He's been working for the CDC for as long as Gliese has been - at least, that's about as far as he can remember. He doesn't question it too much since he isn't getting paid to ask questions. He just needs to do his job and he'll be left alone.
✖ CHARACTER ASSESSMENT: "Friendly" is the first word that comes to mind. He likes to talk, likes to pester people and be their friend (or persistant annoying presence in their lives, whichever comes first). After years of delivering bad news, and having experienced his own share of bad news himself, Ghost has grown used to a lot of what the CDC does that he barely blinks an eye at all of the bad stuff. Maybe that's just his programming though, who knows. At least he'll never turn you down if you want the company.

HORNET |
✖ CDC Mission Advisor ✖ Blue Team Superintendent ✖ hornet @cdc.org
✖ PLACE OF ORIGIN & SPECIES: Alkonost (Alkonese) ✖ DIET: Omnivorous ✖ NOTABLE SKILL SET/S: A “shock jockey” (electrical/voltage manipulation). Eidetic memory (also fluent in most languages).
✖ BACKGROUND: Hornet is a curator of worlds. She collects the remnants of cultures and peoples after their planets have been obliterated by the program. But what she does is hardly sentimental. Her acquisition process is sometimes aggressive, often interrogative and intrusive. She also has a companion named Moro. He is a mechanized creature (with an implanted, organic interior) that protects her, transports her, and helps her analyze indigenous artifacts of interest. He is extremely volatile and easily provoked.
✖ CHARACTER ASSESSMENT: Patient, efficient, and a little judgmental, Hornet has a kind of unsuspecting approachability that makes her popular among recruits. She has a certain analytical depth of empathy that makes her comfortable to be around. Like all Alkonese, Hornet boasts an elongated figure that is heavily plated, obscuring the true face and figure of the creature beneath. She stands about 8 feet tall, with a slight slouch forward, and can move at frightening speeds. There is no information regarding how old she might be, though Alkonese are known to outlive most other species. |

GLIESE |
✖ CDC Coordinator ✖ Crew Captain ✖ gliese@cdc.org
✖ PLANET OF ORIGIN & SPECIES: Gliese 581(I); Gliesian ✖ DIET: Herbivorous ✖ NOTABLE SKILL SET/S: Close-contact combat, intimidation.
✖ BACKGROUND: Gliese's home planet had been obliterated by an enemy species before earth astrophysicists had discovered her home star. The CDC gave her and a small number of her species gainful employment in exchange for a planet of their own, and a chance at revenge.
✖ CHARACTER ASSESSMENT: Gliese prioritizes function, practicality and efficiency; these characteristics often lend her the appearance of being cold or unapproachable. She has a great interest in mathematics, and doesn't appreciate being distracted or having her time wasted. Gliese is responsive to civility, but not to niceness. She presents herself as a mature figure of authority, despite her being young relative to her species.

DAGGER |
✖ CDC Instructor ✖ Red Team Overseer ✖ dagger@cdc.org
✖ PLACE OF ORIGIN & SPECIES: Keluuvi (eponymic) ✖ DIET: Converts hydrogen to energy ✖ NOTABLE SKILL SET/S: Cryokinesis, hydrophobia
✖ BACKGROUND: Dagger was a worker drone back in his home planet, and volunteered during an ongoing war between his species and an emerging apex species on the Keluuvi star belt. In exchange for his service to the CDC, the company had supplied his people with the means to win their war. Dagger has since waived his contractual allowances for personal reasons, and works full-time for the CDC.
✖ CHARACTER ASSESSMENT: Dagger is often found in a sarcastic or unpleasant disposition, but is generally harmless if unprovoked (though "harmless" here has a loose definition). He is irritable most of the time. Despite this, Dagger is the more willing among his fellow instructors to risk his well-being for recruits, and would sometimes join them during downtime.
