Gifted in combat, particularly with the sword, he befriended a trio of the King's Musketeers, and became casually affiliated with their regiment. Proceeding to undertake both training and missions with them, he was eventually commissioned as a Musketeer in his own right, and though still young, serves as a fully fledged guard to Louis XIII, King of France. ✖ CHARACTER ASSESSMENT: D'Artagnan is courageous and honourable, romantic to a fault, and fiercely loyal. He has a tendency for recklessness a hot temper that contrasts with a generally quiet and calm persona. Quick-witted and dry, he is quick to seek friendship and faster to make enemies. He has the tendency to hold grudges, but is unflinching in his support of his allies. He will meet most challenges, even if ill-advised, and does not always think before he acts.
